Having my first piano lesson at the age of five, you could say I’ve been in the music business for a while. Moving from Vacaville, California overseas to the Uk at the age of 13 was a massive change in my life, and I can confidently say that experience has made me into the pianist I am today. In 2015, I enrolled into The Winston Churchill School for two years. Through its music program I had the opportunity to diversify my musical interests into the school’s orchestra, wind ensemble, piano trio, session band, choir, and theater program. In addition, I became a senior prefect of music and won Young Musician of The Year in 2017. The music director at Winston fortunately referred me to his old piano teacher, Dinah Dawkins, who had become my teacher for the next three years. My teacher made me want to be able to create a unique experience with my performances and compositions that audiences will be able to resonate with.
From then on, it inspired me to put more work into my practice and grow as a musician. Moving forward I was put out of my comfort zone by my teacher and competed in many music festivals all over the area, such as Woking, Guildford, Farnborough and Reigate. Eventually they helped me get comfortable performing live and I even won some awards. Dinah taught me everything I know and hold valuable when it comes to my technique, skill and fidelity. Through her teachings I achieved the ARSM Piano Performance, and ABRSM Grade 8 diploma for piano from the Royal Academy of Music and I will never forget my lessons with her. After I graduated from Winston, I moved to the Farnborough 6th Form College, where I studied Music, Music Technology, and Business studies for two years.
I left the UK back in 2019 to further my studies at San Diego State University under the teachings of Karen Follingstad. Other than my education, I love teaching my students piano and helping them find their own love and sound with the instrument. Through my output I aspire to connect deeply and emotionally with others, and to prosper the fire for music into the next generation and for generations to come.
